We collect only the information necessary to operate the LoadJunky marketplace and broker network. This includes:

• Account information: name, business name, email address, phone number, and (for sellers) MC number, USDOT number, or other identifiers that verify your authority to do business.
• Listing data: details about truckloads you post, sell, or buy.
• Broker network data: for shipping brokers added to our private dispatch system, we collect name, mobile phone number, equipment types, and lanes served — with explicit opt-in (see Section 4).
• Usage data: standard web analytics like pages viewed, referring URL, and browser type. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

• To operate the marketplace (list loads, match buyers and sellers, process ratings).
• To send load broadcast SMS messages to brokers who have opted in to our private dispatch network.
• To communicate with you about your account, listings, or support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. SMS Messaging Program — Important Disclosures

Some users (specifically, vetted freight brokers who have explicitly opted in) receive SMS messages from LoadJunky as part of our load-broadcast dispatch system. The following disclosures apply:

How Opt-In Works

Brokers and carriers opt in by entering their mobile number and checking the SMS consent box on our carrier registration form, which reads: “I agree to receive SMS load offers and dispatch messages from LoadJunky at the mobile number I provided.” The box is not pre-checked and is not required to submit the rest of the form. We may also add a broker after explicit verbal or written consent during a direct, one-to-one conversation. We never bulk-import phone numbers, never purchase phone number lists from third parties, and never send unsolicited SMS to anyone.

What You'll Receive

• Load broadcast alerts (pickup/delivery locations, equipment, weight, deadline).
• Confirmation messages when you win a load (with shipper contact info).
• Occasional service notices related to your account.

Message Frequency

Variable. Frequency depends on how often we have loads to broadcast — typically 0–10 messages per week per broker.

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier.

How to Opt Out (STOP)

Reply STOP at any time to any LoadJunky message to immediately stop receiving SMS from us. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. To re-subscribe, reply START.

Help (HELP)

Reply HELP to any LoadJunky message for assistance, or contact us directly using the information in Section 9.

Mobile Information Sharing

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS broadcasts are used solely to deliver the load alerts you signed up for. Phone numbers may be shared only with service providers strictly necessary to deliver the messages (e.g., our SMS gateway, Twilio Inc.) under written confidentiality and data-protection terms.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only when necessary, and never sell personal data. Specifically:

• Service providers: hosting (Netlify), SMS delivery (Twilio), data storage. These vendors are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.
• Other users (limited): when a buyer wins a load, the seller and the assigned shipping broker receive each other's contact info so the shipment can be coordinated.
• Legal requirements: if compelled by a valid legal request, subpoena, or court order.

We do not share, rent, or sell your information for advertising or third-party marketing.

6. Data Security

Sensitive credentials and API keys are stored as encrypted environment variables on Netlify's secure infrastructure. Web traffic is protected by HTTPS/TLS. We follow industry-standard practices to safeguard your information, though no system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
